Job Purpose

To provide crucial analytical and transaction process support to initiatives, including origination, evaluation, design, structuring and execution of global mergers and acquisitions transactions and disposals.

Key Accountabilities
  • Contribute to the planning and framing of future growth options, including joint ventures; originate, design and execute opportunities, engaging across stakeholders, networks, and communities.
  • Employ sophisticated financial modelling skills to analyze complex options and their financing implications supported by powerful strategic, operational and non-financial analysis.
  • Evaluate target businesses for acquisition including the development of financial models, design and structuring of transactions, and the assessment of the transaction impact on National Grid.
  • Deliver high quality documents, including case paper, complete analysis, and deliver impactful presentations to the applicable stakeholders.
  • Report progress against key milestones, issues, opportunities, and risks to the relevant governance body.
  • Conduct required reviews and studies, supporting and monitoring National Grid's holding/investment performance.
  • Create criteria to be followed to reduce National Grid's risk, accounting for regulatory and market practice and other applicable contexts; align with stakeholders as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree or relevant professional qualification supplemented with relevant corporate finance and analytical training. Accountancy or equivalent qualification anticipated (or 5+ years of professional experience in relevant roles)
  • Strong modelling and quantitative skills coupled with an understanding of utility financing and rating agency analysis
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, corporate finance and regulation with a sound understanding of National Grid's risk profile and financial priorities
