From processing manuscript materials to creating tools that connect scholars with primary sources, you will boldly contribute to expanding the narrative of women's lives and leadership.

What You'll Do:

- Assist with collections intake by arranging and rehousing manuscript materials and creating records in ArchivesSpace

- Process archival and manuscript collections and assess organizational, arrangement, and preservation needs

- Create descriptive tools, including finding aids and catalog records

- Support the processing of print materials as needed

- Assist librarians with special projects

- Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring:

- Current enrollment in a master's program in Public History or an ALAaccredited MLIS program (or equivalent)

- Interest in women's history and the preservation of cultural heritage

- Strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Initiative and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with high attention to detail

- Ability to occasionally move materials weighing up to 40 pounds

- Ability to work near materials containing dust or mold

- Preferred: Experience in special collections or completion of archival theory/practice coursework

- Preferred: Academic or activist background in women's studies or women's history

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $18.00 to USD $22.84.
