In the role of Hydraulics Structures EIT, we'll count on you to:

  • Assist Senior Engineers and Project Managers in performing engineering tasks including preparing studies, designs, engineering recommendations, improvement plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and presentations of hydraulic structures including dams, spillways, gates, outlet works, diversion structures, retaining walls, cofferdams, floodwalls, water conveyance structures, foundations, and concrete structures.
  • Support development of quantities using a combination of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and hand calculations.
  • Attend and participate in occasional site visits and/or field meetings. Attend and participate in project meetings with internal staff and external clients or teaming partners.
  • Coordinate structural design with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills. Be able to clearly describe work in written reports, presentations, technical memos, meeting notes, and emails.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, with guidance from other engineers, and as a part of a team.
  • Be able to follow instructions, ask questions, and resolve challenges in a team environment through collaboration and dialogue.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit Mathcad, SAP2000, or similar analytical software, advanced finite element software (LS-DYNA, ANSYS, Abaqus)
  • Design coursework completed in concrete and steel design
  • Comfortable working the field or outdoors in adverse weather conditions or physically demanding situations
  • Willingness to assist in field assignments using specialized equipment and techniques including Rope Access, ROV, or Drones with the possibility of being a fully trained individual in specialized skill set.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
