| Job Description Summary: |
GW Office of Communications and Marketing (
OCM) seeks a skilled and results-driven digital marketing specialist to assist the University Advancement team in reaching and engaging with target audiences. The Senior Digital Marketing Specialist will coordinate digital assets and campaigns across the Division, including email campaigns, website, and social media.
Responsibilities
- Project manage digital campaigns and deliverables from across the division of Advancement, including Annual Giving appeals, stewardship and engagement campaigns, and leadership outreach.
- Maintain project intake forms and team production calendar. Partner with channel leads to monitor deliverables and assist with the approval process for digital materials.
- Create and update documentation on project history and standard operating procedures. Advise other departments on best practices and procedures for submitting project requests.
- Assist with website maintenance in Drupal, including regular scanning of web pages and recent news to ensure content is current and relevant, adding news and articles, creating new pages, and drafting content as requested.
- Assist with email marketing, including copy editing, image selection, list imports, email scheduling, and reporting.
- Continually seek new opportunities to advance the University's digital presence and effectively communicate with various external audiences. Collaborate on creative ways materials can be integrated across digital channels, including web, email, social media, and digital advertising.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Experience in digital marketing and communications with strong preference for demonstrated experience in email marketing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in drafting content to promote alumni programs, events, or fundraising initiatives preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, independent task management skills, and familiarity with project management tools and practices. Ability to prioritize project requests from across departments to create and outline an actionable plan. Experience utilizing project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, Asana, etc. strongly preferred.
- Experience editing websites in Drupal or a similar CMS. Basic understanding of HTML & CSS strongly preferred.
- Experience utilizing Luminate Online or similar email and event marketing platforms. Background with editing and scheduling email marketing campaigns preferred.
- Experience reading and drawing conclusions from digital analytics (ie, email clicks, webpage visits, social media engagement) preferred.
