Status: Full-Time, Exempt About the Role Prolec-GE Waukesha is seeking an experienced Application Engineer Manager to lead our Application Engineering Team responsible for converting customer requirements into precise technical and commercial proposals for transformer postsales services-including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and full lifecycle support. The leader ensures customers receive timely, highquality engineering and commercial guidance from initial inquiry through order acknowledgment. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a multi-location Application Engineering Team supporting post-sale commercial service activities.
- Delegate and manage daily activities, ensuring efficiency and alignment with business priorities.
- Develop and maintain reporting analytics to meet service goals and drive competitive quoting performance.
- Provide technical and commercial leadership to ensure accurate and competitive proposals, fostering a high-performance team culture.
- Collaborate with field services, engineering, product management, finance, sourcing, operations, and sales to deliver competitive, high-quality proposals.
- Ensure full compliance and continuous improvement with quoting processes and pricing models.
- Oversee the service commercial pipeline, leading technical reviews and risk assessments for qualified opportunities.
- Support the development of new service offerings and life-cycle management programs
- Promote effective use of project management tools.
- Travel approximately 15% for customer, team, and industry engagements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of transformer services, installation, maintenance, and diagnostics
- Solid business acumen, including cost drivers, profitability, and customer value strategies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, CRM, and BI tools
- Ability to manage complex scopes and make sound decisions with incomplete information
- Highly responsive with a strong commitment to customer needs and timely support
- Skilled at building relationships, influencing cross-functional teams, and developing talent
- Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience
Preferred:
- Background in Six Sigma or Lean performance
- Experience in transformer services or service related quoting
