Position Summary

The Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Specialist will assist the EHS Manager in promoting the environmental, health, and safety of plant operations to assure individual employee well-being and compliance with corporate, local, state and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintain the site's ISO 14001 Compliance Certification and Program
* Lead and manage site's Leak Detection Repair (LDAR) Program, including contractor management.
* Lead, track and report on the sites Sustainability Program including carbon reduction initiatives, water reduction activities and waste reduction activities
* Perform routine inspections of compliance records and documentation to meet Federal, State, and Local requirements (Title V, LDAR, NPDES, RCRA)
* Complete and submit appropriate reports to meet reporting obligations for regulations applicable to Federal, State and Local requirements (Title V, LDAR, NPDES, RCRA)
* Support both internal and external environmental regulatory audits and inspections
* Assist in environmental permitting to further site growth initiatives
* Assist in contractor management for site's superfund remediation activities

Qualifications

WORK EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
* Five years industrial experience in an EHS function or Environmental function in a chemical manufacturing environment
PREFERRED
* Ten years industrial experience as an EHS professional focus on environmental field

EDUCATION
REQUIRED
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field
PREFERRED
* Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

CERTIFICATIONS
PREFERRED
* 40-Hour Hazardous Material Technician (HAZMAT) certified
