Job Summary:
The Department of Environment, Health & Safety is seeking a Certification Specialist to join their Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC) team. If you enjoy troubleshooting technical problems and working collaboratively, this position could be a great fit for you! Under the direction of the Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) Field Supervisor, the Certification Specialist provides repairs, maintenance, and certification at the University of Wisconsin-Madison research laboratories. This includes working with biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, and HEPA filtration systems. This position is a great opportunity to learn new skills and be a part of a team that helps keep the campus safe! A Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) serves as the primary means to protect the laboratory worker and the surrounding environment from pathogens. All exhaust air is HEPA-filtered as it exits the biosafety cabinet, removing harmful bacteria and viruses. BSCs are designed to provide personnel, environmental and product protection when appropriate practices and procedures are followed. This position will require problem-solving skills and critical thinking to ensure the certification and repairs of lab equipment. All technical training will be provided by the UW BSC team! Ongoing/Renewable Full-Time: 100% FTE Hours generally scheduled Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM. Work is performed onsite. Key Job Responsibilities:

Compensation:$60,000 Annual Salary Minimum The minimum salary for this position is $60,000 but it is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
