Join Our Team as a Electrical Engineer II at Epiroc!

The primary responsibilities of a Electrical Engineer includes: researching, planning, and designing electrical and electromechanical products and systems for Epiroc's robotic unmanned vehicles. Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as power distribution units, sensor interfaces, control cabinets, and embedded hardware. Conducts electrical systems testing and creates schematics, wiring diagrams, and functional prototypes. Electrical Engineers are also responsible for directing and coordinating activities involved in the assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and components. A certain degree of creativity and

latitude is required. Reports to a manager/supervisor. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Researching and analyzing data including customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Participating in manufacturing and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Coordinating operation, maintenance, and repair activities that optimize utilization of machines and equipment.
  • Designing products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
  • Evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Contribute to design reviews



Essential education, work experience, job skills



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years Electrical Engineering related experience.
  • 3-5 years in EDA tools development experience
  • Proficient skills with analog/digital circuit design
  • Experience in documenting design reviews.
  • Proficient at documenting requirements.
  • Familiar with failure modes and effects analysis.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of software development.



Physical Demands



  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly required to sit and use and regularly required to walk, stand, and bend in the performance of daily responsibilities
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must frequently use hands to handle or feel.



Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Responsible for meeting the objectives of our ISO programs. When there are any questions, regarding these programs they shall be directed to your supervisor/manager or the facility ISO representative. Supervisors and managers are responsible for communicating policy and objectives of ISO programs to their employees.
