JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Entertainment is looking for a Director of Participations with solid project management, analytical, communication, and organizational skills. The Director, Participations will be responsible for Participations reporting to above-the-line talent and other partners, and will work closely with the Business Affairs, Production Accounting, Residuals, and other departments. The candidate must communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within the company as well as outside stakeholders. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, system maintenance of our library, scheduling, preparing, reviewing, and issuing participation statements at required intervals, submitting payments for processing, providing guidance to the IT team regarding the automated participation reporting system, assisting with participations payment forecasting, and managing audits. Duties include gathering supporting documentation, reviewing contracts and accounting records, and conducting various analyses, as required.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review contracts to identify contingent compensation obligations and details of the deal structure and related reporting requirements.

  • Maintain title details within our Anaplan system, ensuring details are both complete and current.

  • Prepare draft participation statements in Excel for review and approval by Business Affairs and Finance.

  • Prepare and/or review quarterly/semi-annual/annual participation statements.

  • Issue approved statements to contracted parties.

  • Submit statements to AP for payment processing if applicable and assist in the disbursement of payments to participants (including on boarding of participants as vendors).

  • Monitor incoming emails from participants and partners, researching and responding to inquiries.

  • Take the lead in managing audits, including scheduling, set up, providing transaction details, and responding to other audit requests.

  • Maintain department files (both digital and hard copy) in accordance with company policy and law.

  • Assist in forecasting for participation ultimates and/or profits as needed.

  • Assist senior management, Business Affairs and Finance with analysis of proposed contract terms and ad-hoc projects as required.

  • Assume a leadership role in the development and maintenance of the Anaplan based participation system, as well as other company systems that touch the participations system.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • 10 + years of accounting/finance experience in the film/television industry

  • Experience with ChatGPT and AI a +

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator who can build strong working relationships with a diverse group of cross-functional business partners

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and handle adverse situations with diplomacy and authority

  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Expert-level Excel skills

  • Strong working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $143,000.00-173,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
