About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

We are seeking a Government Affairs Manager to join our US State & Local team. Based in New York City, you will be responsible for Salesforce policy priorities across the Northeast, with a primary focus on New York and Massachusetts. This role requires a minimum of three days in our New York City office every week.

In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for state and local policymakers, trade associations, and civic organizations across the Northeast. You will champion a policy agenda focused on AI, Data Privacy, and Digital Transformation. By serving as a bridge between Salesforce and policymakers, you will proactively shape the regulatory environments that impact our customers and our community.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Advocacy: Represent Salesforce's interests before Governors, State Legislatures, Mayors, and City Councils. You will drive policy outcomes on issues that impact our customers and our community.

  • Political Intelligence: Act as an early-warning system by analyzing legislative and regulatory trends. You'll translate "government-speak" into actionable business insights for our executive leadership.

  • Executive Briefing: Prepare high-level briefings for our executive leadership team for interactions with key policymakers.

  • Coalition Building: Lead our engagement with trade associations and civic organizations to amplify our voice.

  • Strategic Events & Programming: Partner with our Marketing and Events teams to integrate government stakeholders into Dreamforce, World Tours, and local events. You will oversee VIP protocols and compliance for public official attendance.

  • Corporate Diplomacy: Manage the regional budget for political contributions, event sponsorships and community-based initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Regional Expertise: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government, public policy, or advocacy. Deep, existing relationships in Albany and New York City are essential.

  • Policy Literacy: A proven ability to dissect complex state and municipal legislation and communicate the impact on the technology sector.

  • Process Literacy: Knowledge of legislative process and key inflection points for advocacy.

  • Agility: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and execute on management of simultaneous projects. You can pivot from a legislative hearing to a high-level internal strategy call without missing a beat.

  • Communication: Exceptional writing skills-capable of drafting everything from a "one-pager" for a policymaker to an internal Slack update for the global team.

  • Ownership & Alignment: Ability to work independently and take initiative, yet 100% in coordination with the team

  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 20%.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • The Tech Lens: Experience working for a multinational global SaaS/Cloud/AI company.

  • Campaign Mindset: Experience in candidate or issue-based campaigns where you had to build a movement from the ground up.

  • Multi-Jurisdictional Reach: Direct experience navigating the political climates of additional Northeast states
