Job Summary The Endpoint Engineeris responsible for designing, managing and optimizing the organization'sIntuneand endpoint management environment. This role builds and maintains Windows Autopilot and standard desktop configurations to ensure seamless device deployment and a high-quality digital experience for all staff. It also owns the creation, testing and maintenance of automated software packages, gold images and endpoint security standards to support reliable patching and compliance across the enterprise. Key responsibilities include administration of software distribution, application and security patching, desktop security, remote support tools and other enterprise desktop management and monitoring utilities. The Endpoint Engineer researches and evaluates new hardware and software standards, maintains detailed technical documentation and leads both tactical and strategic projects, including planning and execution. This position analyzes complex endpoint issues, recommends and implements hardware and software solutions and manages approvals for related purchases. The role supports and operates the testing environment for desktop hardware, operating systems, hosted applications, service packs, patches, security configurations and image deployment, ensuring all changes follow a formal release management process. It develops and maintains reporting on software license usage, hardware and software compliance, OS and application distribution. The Endpoint Engineer administers and maintains the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) environment and Intune co-management, preparing, testing and releasing software and security updates into production. This position stays current on endpoint management tools, client computing trends and best practices through ongoing learning. It collaborates closely with QA/QE teams to validate software packages, configurations and images, and partners with the Enterprise Architect to shape the desktop roadmap and strategy (hardware, OS, browsers, peripherals and management tools). All employees act as a first line of defense by proactively identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risks, supporting a strong risk culture and regulatory compliance; Risk and Audit functions provide oversight and assurance. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Requirements 5+ years of IT client engineering/administration in an enterprise environment. 3+ years engineering and managing Microsoft Intune. Proven experience developing, testing and maintaining Windows OS images and application packages. Hands-on experience installing, administering, configuring and maintaining Microsoft SCCM Current Branch. Expert knowledge of Windows client operating systems. In-depth experience with Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, Group Policy and WSUS. Advanced IT troubleshooting skills. Strong, clear oral and written communication skills. Experience with Windows client file, share and OS permission management. Familiarity with client security concepts. Experience controlling MSI and EXE installations using command line switches and transforms. Advanced scripting skills (command line, PowerShell). Advanced understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS). Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM), including device provisioning and policy management. Preferred Skills Microsoft Office deployment, including Office 365 desktop deployment and integration. Desktop OS and application virtualization. Experience with software packaging tools (e.g., InstallShield, InstallAware or similar MSI editors). Experience supporting Windows Servers. Multi-factor authentication (tokens, biometrics). SCCM report creation using built-in tools or SQL. Software asset/license management and metering. In-depth knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices. Education Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience (required). Ongoing self-study, training, coursework and certifications required to maintain performance expectations and support career progression.
