Description
This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a CLE Specialist to join our team in our Seattle office.
We offer a hybrid work engagement with two days o f remote work, and three days in-office.
The CLE Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring CLE accreditation and reporting for all firm-sponsored CLEs across multiple U.S. jurisdictions, working in close collaboration with the CLE Administrator and Senior Manager of Attorney Training & CLE Compliance. This role also oversees the centralized tracking and payment of state bar dues to relevant DWT state jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, prioritizes a customer service mindset, maintains positive and successful working relationships, excels at collaborating across departments to ensure a seamless learning and accreditation experience for all stakeholders, and is willing and able to build a working knowledge of state bar MCLE requirements on the job.

On a typical day you will:

  • Create, gather, and submit all CLE accreditation application packets to various state bar jurisdictions, verify attendance, submit attendance reports as required by jurisdictions, and issue CLE certificates for all firm-sponsored CLEs
  • Maintain the firm's CLE program files. Ensure CLE training program data and materials are accurately and timely entered into the CLE LMS. Support CLE Administrator's preparation of renewal applications and DWT's annual accredited provider reports, as needed
  • Serve as a primary contact for the state MCLE boards
  • Hold primary responsibility for the centralized tracking and batch payment of mandatory state bar dues with relevant DWT state jurisdictions (California, Oregon, Washington, Washington, D.C.)
  • Serve as a primary contact for DWT attorney CLE inquiries and provide ongoing communication in relation to CLE rules and regulations, course credits, and accreditation deadlines
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to support course accreditation of firm-sponsored CLE programs. Gather required CLE accreditation documents (attendance verification forms, QR codes, etc.), as needed. Answer program accreditation inquiries from external attendees
  • Stay current on CLE rules and regulations for all states with DWT offices and states where the firm frequently requests program accreditation. Research additional CLE accreditation state requirements, as needed
  • Research in-person and on-demand CLE opportunities, as requested
  • Twice a month, review and process department credit card expenses
  • And other duties as assigned

Join us if you have:

  • 3+ years' experience with similar administrative and database responsibilities in a law firm or other professional services organization is required; previous experience with MCLE tracking and coordination preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working with state MCLE portals, accreditation rules and procedures preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use database applications required
  • Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel required; knowledge of all MS Office products strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with lawyers and business professionals
  • Ability to organize assignments, work under pressure and meet deadlines. High degree of attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical skills
  • Demonstrates strong customer service orientation, including being very responsive to inquiries and strong independent problem-solving skills

Washington State
The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $81,000 to $91,000 ($41.54 to $46.67 hourly).Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly.
