The Legacy Program Coordinator for Hampden County plays a vital leadership role in supporting Mentors with lived experience of exploitation and human trafficking as they guide survivors toward safety, stability, and empowerment. This position provides ongoing supervision, coaching, and professional development to Mentors while fostering collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to reduce exploitation and strengthen survivor safety. The Program Coordinator also maintains a small caseload of Mentees, ensuring direct, compassionate support alongside program leadership.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist Mentors in developing an appropriate support service, education, and placement plan for each assigned Mentee. Provide oversight with required documentation required for each Mentee and track trainings.
  • Work collaboratively with Mentors and multi-disciplinary teams, including law enforcement, to enhance each Mentee's safety and ability to aid in a prosecution, when appropriate.
  • Provide weekly supervision to Mentors and facilitate weekly staff meetings. This may include providing training and assisting with professional development. Assist Mentors with developing crisis intervention/harm reduction plans and intervening as a team when clinically necessary. Assist Mentors with improving engagement levels for Mentees.
  • When appropriate, co-facilitate My Life My Choice exploitation evidence-based prevention group with adolescent youth in schools, group homes, etc.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations which include quality assurance with Mentors/Legacy program, monitoring Mentee budget expenses, and activities along with approval of time sheets, mileage and credit card for Mentee activity purchases.
  • Conduct intakes as needed and/or assign intake to a Mentor. Work with Mentors to determine the most appropriate clinical match for each Mentee. Track waitlist when necessary and work with Vice President to determine the needs and risk of youth on waitlist.
  • Maintain regular communication with MDT members, other service providers, stakeholders, and collaterals to strengthen community relationships. Ensure Legacy participation in regional task forces, coalitions and any other meetings that are critical to CSEC awareness. Provide education and awareness on Legacy services to providers, community partners, and caregivers.
  • Maintain a smaller caseload of Mentees who have been commercially sexually exploited. This support will include weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings (depending on where a youth is in recovery) with each meeting lasting 1-3 hours. Contacts may occur wherever the youth reside.



CORE COMPETENCIES:


  • A personal interest in, and commitment to, working with children and youth
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Positive attitude and belief in the hope of recovery from commercial sexual exploitation for youth.



QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Personal history as a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation as an adolescent or young adult.
  • A significant length of time in recovery from sexual exploitation or human trafficking
  • Knowledge in a Trauma Informed Model approach and how to best support Vicarious Trauma for Mentors
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A current driver's license and access to a car.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Demonstrates and promote cultural competence, awareness, and respect for diversity
  • Promote agency core values and mission

$2,500 Sign-On Incentive!

This position is eligible for the RFK Community Alliance Sign-On Incentive in the amount of $2,500 in your first year of employment. You will receive $500 after 3 months; $500 after 6 months; $1,500 after 12 months.
