Position Summary:
This position works closely with the Director and Senior Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to build, maintain and expand relationships with corporations and foundations for the benefit of NJIT's strategic priorities. in a variety of responsibilities for Corporate & Foundation Relations.

Essential Functions:
- Works closely with the Senior Executive Director and Director to establish and manage long-range strategies and goals of the CFR department and to ensure effective, efficient, and coordinated fundraising strategies.
- Establishes, cultivates, and manages relationships with a portfolio of primarily foundation prospects capable of making grants and gifts up to $500,000.
- Prepares and submits letters of interest, concept papers, proposals, and other solicitation materials to foundations and other institutional funders.
- In conjunction with the Senior Executive Director, oversees the CFR post-award process on behalf of CFR team members as needed, including but not limited to drafting/sending acknowledgements, establishing post-award fund accounts, following up with campus partners to ensure spenddown on all gifts/grants, and coordinating with CFR team members on reporting deadlines.
- Coordinates and prepares briefing materials for various meetings, visits, and events (both virtual and in person) between foundation representatives and various NJIT stakeholders.
- Maintains and updates CFR office data on institutional priority projects, faculty grant activity, institutional rankings and other designations, foundation grant programs, various templates and boilerplate, and other metrics/data as assigned.
- Identifies and qualifies foundation prospects, maintains prospect lists, collates prospect research, reviews historical giving lists, monitors and circulates RFPs, and compiles research profiles as needed.
- Annual goals relating to number of contacts, proposals submitted, gifts/grants secured, and new prospects identified to be established in collaboration with the Senior Executive Director of CFR.
- Incumbent must be willing to work extended hours as needed. Requirements could include evening and weekend meetings, special event attendance, and travel. Ability to travel both in and out-of-state (25% out of state, 75% in state).
- Provides support for office-wide fundraising campaign, events, and other projects as needed.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher and at least three (3) or more years of related experience, preferably in a higher education or non-profit setting.
- Knowledge of institutional giving and at least three (3) years of experience in corporate and foundation research.
- Demonstrated ability to work productively as a team member collaboratively in an academic setting with a wide range of university and external representatives, including deans, faculty, staff across departments and disciplines, and institutional giving officers.
- Demonstrated record of successful grant solicitation.
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple, deadline-driven responsibilities.
- Excellent computer, database, and research skills.
- Very strong relationship-building and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $70,089.77-$131,210.76 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
