Description

Location: Pocahontas, VA. Pocahontas State Correctional Center operates a 4- month long Fentanyl Response Program providing substance use disorder services to males identified for treatment. Pocahontas State Correctional Center is a level 3 security facility with a capacity of 1,034 inmates.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm with a 1-hour unpaid meal break.

Pay rate: $72,000-$75,000 annually

The Program Director is responsible for:



  • Providing overall leadership and management on all contractual components, personnel, financial management, clinical programming, and all related areas.
  • Administering direct supervision of the Clinical and Program staff.
  • Ensuring all scheduled group programming and other activities occur according to the program schedule.
  • Supervising all personnel management functions for the programs including hiring, orientation, training, development of personnel, teambuilding and disciplinary issues.
  • Overseeing the accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensuring all are submitted to the VA DOC and Spectrum leadership within established timeframes.
  • Continuously evaluating the program to ensure the fidelity of the treatment model is maintained by all personnel and routinely assessing competency of staff.

Qualifications

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Education or closely related field required.
  • State Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience is required.
  • Corrections experience or experience directing treatment services within a secure environment is required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
