Overview

The Supervisor-Pharmacy Systems will collaborate and strategize on the day-to-day functions and responsibilities of the Pharmacy Systems Department. The supervisor will be responsible for organizing, delegating, and tracking all associated projects and tasks for the Pharmacy Systems Coordinators. These projects and tasks will include, but are not limited to formulary updates, plan designs and builds, testing, system upgrades and maintenance, audits, data validation, and quality assurance. The supervisor will partner with the Pharmacy Systems Specialists to coordinate training, and designate appropriate staffing needed for projects and/or tasks. The supervisor will utilize strong leadership skills to motivate, train, coach, listen, mentor, and set goals and expectations for the staff. They will also be responsible for conflict management and carrying out disciplinary actions when necessary. The supervisor will take initiative to continue learning and/or seek training when necessary. They will represent pharmacy systems in cross-functional meetings and projects. Overtime and holiday work may be required as a condition of employment.

Qualifications
  • Associates degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred. An additional two (2) years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Four (4) years of pharmacy, pharmacy benefit management (PBM) and/or managed care experience to include pharmacy on-line claims billing required.
  • One (1) year of progressive leadership/management responsibilities required.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with Optum RxClaim and associated systems is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the demonstrated ability to influence and work cross functionally.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and achieve goals as well as motivate others toward the same.
  • Ability to support team in areas such as training, coaching, listening and conflict management.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Access, and other MS Office products preferred, including proficient typing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, work with minimal supervision, and maintain confidentiality.

Essential Accountabilities

Leadership/Coaching

  • Coach and mentor staff to achieve departmental standards.
  • Effective communication with all PBD staff.
  • Facilitate regular one to one meetings with staff, as well as performance evaluations.
  • Anticipate team needs and prepare and respond accordingly.
  • Provide feedback and identify areas of improvement for associates and offer necessary assistance and support.
  • Possess ability to identify and communicate any changes that affect the system.
  • Assist with departmental meetings and maintain a work environment that promotes teamwork.
  • Develop and maintain interdepartmental relationships throughout the company.

Managing Workflow

  • Assign and track all formulary updates for all lines of business. Ensure all updates are completed within compliance standards and set time frames.
  • Assign and monitor work; gather necessary resources; maintain tracking grids and ensure business objectives are being met including but not limited to ad-hoc projects, plan builds, testing, and appropriate live claims analysis.
  • Responsible for ensuring all associated tasks for group implementations are completed within set time frames.
  • Create, implement, and maintain reference manuals for processes and policies that meet both business needs and regulatory/audit requirements.
  • Assist in the collection of audit documentation and ensure delivery of complete and necessary information to the requestors within set time frames.

Quality Assurance

  • Oversee testing, data validation, and user sign-off to ensure reports are pulling the correct data and achieving customer requirements.
  • Ensure monthly eligibility and payment logs are up to date and accurate.
  • Oversee audit documentation and record retention for audits.
  • Develop and support process improvements.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are up to date.

Hiring Compensation Range: $65,000 - $70,000 annually

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
