DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Licensed Psychologist, you will provide psychological services to patients receiving treatment in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting. You will evaluate the psychological strengths and weaknesses of individuals by reviewing medical and social case histories, conducting personal interviews, and observing behaviors, emotions, and physical conditions. You will also administer and interpret intelligence, neuropsychological, social development, and other psychological testing to diagnose individual psychological disorders and formulate plans for psychological treatment. This role requires the ability attain patient treatment goals, as well as a genuine desire to improve patient psychological behaviors. In addition, you will oversee psychology interns, conduct group and individual therapy sessions, and maintain required documentation in the Electronic Heath Care Record (EHR).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Travel as needed

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
