The EHS Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, managing and continuously improving the environment, health and safety programs for the site. The Manager will have extensive knowledge of EHS compliance programs. The Manager will directly manage and/or provide guidance in managing programs, initiatives, budgets, and outside services. The Manager will work closely with local and central management teams to maintain EHS excellence

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Oversee and maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and GSK EHS requirements.
  • Perform gap assessments against relevant standards and execute remediation plans as needed.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure EHS annual objectives are achieved.
  • Advise Site Leadership teams in processes to improve EHS management and performance in their areas of responsibility.
  • Lead major site EHS initiatives or change programs needed to create new or enhance existing compliance.
  • Monitor site performance through regular internal auditing processes and oversee CAPAs to address deficiencies.
  • Oversee and perform detailed analysis of new assets or modifications to existing assists and the impact they might have on compliance.
  • Manage partners and contracted service providers to understand risks and maintain compliance as new projects and assists are initiated.
  • Establish programmers to manage the site's EHS risks and impacts, coordinated within an overall EHS management system. Review change proposals (including capital projects and new product introductions) to identify potential EHS issues and participate in their resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues at other GSK sites in North America and around the world to ensure that EHS best practices and lessons from adverse events are shared effectively.
  • Oversee programs at site such as Crisis Management or Risk Management and ensure site maintains compliance at all times .

Basic Qualification
:
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry or public health and safety
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing EHS programs across a diverse portfolio
  • 10+ years of experience in dealing with EHS regulations and statutory requirements
  • Occasional travel is required <5%.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing site with on-call rotation duties and occasional weekend work.

Preferred Qualification:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills specifically across multiple organizations.
  • Excellent computer skills primarily with Microsoft Office Suite and Project
  • Highly effective written, oral and presentation skills Ability to prioritize multiple demands, think strategically and successfully lead multiple simultaneous projects Duties of the position require considerable walking, climbing (e.g. ladders, platforms), prolonged standing, and crouching, while carrying sampling equipment and measuring devices.
  • Personal protective equipment including respiratory protection qualifications must be worn occasionally to complete job duties.
