Lead Sanitation

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
• Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
• Monitor tool and chemical inventories and the condition of the sanitation storage area to ensure adequate working conditions.
• Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
• Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and sanitation techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
• Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
• Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.
• Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
• Effectively oversee sanitation personnel to ensure that all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently in accordance with plant procedures and local, state and federal regulations.
• Assume and/or perform sanitation Supervisor duties as required; including vacation/outage coverage, and other duties related to the efficient operation of the bakery as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Must have prior industrial sanitation experience.

Experience as a group leader is preferred.

Prefer previous safety training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Although the physical requirements vary each day, the employee must have the ability to sit (5%), stand (40%), walk (10%), kneel/squat (20%) and bend (25%) for 8 hours. Ability to lift approximately up to a maximum of 50 pounds, approximately 4 times per day from floor to waist. Ability to reach from 10 inches approximately 2 hours per day, and up to 60 inches approximately 1 hour per day. Ability to climb stairs approximately 8 times per day, ladders approximately 1-2 times per day, and crawling approximately 3 to 4 times per week. Performs repetitive motion, using the hands and arms approximately 1 hour per day and the back (twisting) approximately 1 hour per day. Must be able to perform pushing/pulling of the upper body approximately 5 to 6 times per day and the whole body approximately 4 to 5 times per day. May push and pull trash carts weighing 500 lb, dough carts weighing 800 lb, portable equipment and catch pans weighing 500 lb. May walk on unprotected heights, catwalks, etc. occasionally every week. Cannot be afraid of heights. Must be in good physical condition.

Reading, writing, seeing, hearing, communicating, adding, subtracting, understanding instructions, and complete mental capabilities. Ability tolerate temperature extremes daily. To be in unprotected heights approximately daily. Exposure and sugar dust, refrigerants, and chemicals daily.

MACHINES/TOOLS USED:

Rubber boots, uniforms, trash carts, paint brushes, brooms, scrapers, buckets, buffers, ladders, gloves, wrenches, mops, squeegee, pliers, putty knife, channel lock, bump hat, hair net, and ear plugs and safety glasses.
