As a primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals. Within AWM, the Financing and Debt Capital Markets team ("DCM") is responsible for sourcing, negotiation and execution of financing agreements for funds and products managed by Goldman Sachs. The team ensures global consistency in terms and adherence to critical risk management principles, while managing the firm's lender and counterparty relationships to originate and optimize debt capital for various investment products. This capital is a critical component of the performance we deliver to our investors. Associates within DCM will support more senior team members in the execution of transactions and manage a variety of recurring tasks, while also mentoring junior team members. The successful applicant will demonstrate a consistent track-record of achievement, be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, can manage multiple projects concurrently, and possess strong interpersonal and technical skills. Role Responsibilities:
- Supporting senior team members in the origination, negotiation and execution of debt facilities, with a focus on private credit facilities supporting the Private Credit investment teams
- Build financial models and analyze data/debt structures to determine impact across multiple levels of the business and advise stakeholders on best potential options
- Act as a relationship manager for lenders and rating agencies and act as a point of contact between institutional clients, external counsels, and internal stakeholders (eg, operations, middle office, legal, investment teams, compliance, etc).
- Collaborating with other teams involved in the management of transactions post-execution
- Preparing supporting material for debt origination (lender presentations, collateral analysis, committee documents, transaction pipeline, etc.)
- Liaising with investment teams across various products
- Working on strategic initiatives and product innovation
- Tracking/reporting/analyzing detailed performance metrics
- Creating management presentations/responding to ad hoc requests and preparing analyses for same
- Supporting/furthering technology initiatives related to the above responsibilities
- Interacting with management and providing presentation materials for various meetings (investment committee, etc.)
- Additional responsibilities will be based on the needs of the business and the candidate's specific skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Law, Mathematics, or a related field
- (3) years of experience in job offered or a related role. Prior work experience must include three (3) years of experience assisting in leading the origination, negotiation, and execution of debt facilities, specifically in Private Credit, not limited to but including private bank-led credit facilities, securitizations, and privately-placed debt in the capital markets
- Financial modeling related to sensitivity analysis, debt cost forecasting, flow of funds, portfolio/pipeline management, and market comparisons
- Working with Investment funds' structures, asset management, liquidity management and investment strategies
- Relationship management with lenders and institutional counterparties
- Legal documentation, due diligence, and compliance related to the servicing and execution of multiple types of agreements
- Strong analytical and technical skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
- Ability to stay organized, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn, including implementation of AI
- Exemplary work ethic and personal integrity
- Team player, willing to help in areas not explicitly related to job duties and collaborate with others
- Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end. Benefits
