Capacity Planning Common Process Group Specialist

The Common Process Group (CPG) Specialist's primary focus is ensuring that supplier's common process groups (a group of parts with a shared constraint/bottleneck within a supply chain) are setup, accurate, and the process group has the capacity in place to support the production plan. The Common Process Group Specialist works in partnership with Capacity Planning, Production Planning, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Engineering, and the supply base while validating CPGs.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:



  • Identify, document, and validate all Common Process Group (CPG) bottlenecks (manufacturing and tiered supplier constraints/bottlenecks)

    • Ensure CPG capacity meets STLA program/purchased requirements
    • Be able to complete all CPG tasks within Capacity Database
    • Be able to identify and resolve inaccurate supplier developed CPGs
    • Understand/articulate the commodity's manufacturing process


  • Work with the supply base and the STLA Commodity Purchasing team to remove barriers that are constraining CPG's
  • Responsible to assist and monitor the supply base with regular CPG maintenance/upkeep
  • Conduct CPG training for external and internal stakeholders
  • Help resolve capacity shortfalls that are encountered during daily interactions
  • Support program Bulletin capacity investigations
  • Create / document processes, learning documents, job aids for Capacity Planning operational core competencies, including identifying and leading system enhancements

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • A minimum of 1 year of Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Material Logistics Management or related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous supply chain, industrial engineering or manufacturing experience
  • Strong interest in automotive industry
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Proficient in Power BI, Qlik or other data mining applications
  • Self-directed
