Responsibilities

We are seeking a Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) Engineer to join our team based at White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, NM. This position is focused on software testing that will be utilized on a new ground system in support of NASA's return to the moon. You will be joining a team that is dedicated to system analysis, software and hardware testing, collaboration with multiple departments, and the sustainment of software or hardware into existing systems that support Space Communications for NASA's Near Space Network (NSN).

As prime contractor on the Peraton Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks. In this position, you will become part of NASA's return to the moon, support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. You will be an integral part of a world class team that ensures NASA space-ground communications are reliable and meet mission requirements.

This position will be responsible for:

    Development, execution, and tracking of software test procedures and plans in support of requirement verification for systems under development.
  • Interface with personnel from a variety of disciplines to ensure successful integration of software fixes and updates.
  • Independently organize working groups to develop scenario testing, procedures, documentation, and operator training.
  • Implementation of NASA System Engineering Management Policy processes, procedures, documentation, and contributions to major project milestone reviews with the NASA customer.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks and projects as requested by management leadership.


Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Education/Experience - degree in engineering, sciences, or other related technical field and related experience as follows: BS/BA degree and 2 years' experience, AS/AA degree and 4 years' experience; without a degree, 6+ years of related experience is required.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Familiarity with Java, Javascript, and Python
  • Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship. An Interim Secret clearance is acceptable to start.
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience in Integration and Test procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices and methodology
  • Knowledge of Jira
  • Knowledge of radio frequency communication architectures and associated ground equipment.
  • Knowledge of network technologies, switches, performance, and firewall security.
  • Familiarity with configuration management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work with multiple tasks, projects, and personnel from a variety of disciplines.
  • Experience in evaluating and testing software performance.

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
