Job Description

The Program Coordinator supports the Manager of the Chinese Health Initiative (CHI) in planning, organizing, and implementing health screenings, educational programs, and community outreach events. This role provides highquality customer service, administrative support, and project coordination to advance CHI's mission of improving the health and wellbeing of Chinese and Chinese American communities.

Job Description

  • Coordinate culturally responsive health programs serving Chinese and Chinese American communities.
  • Plan and execute health education workshops, screenings, and outreach events (e.g., diabetes prevention, cancer awareness, cardiovascular health).
  • Oversee the volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and retention.
  • Lead special projects in collaboration with community partners, hospital departments, and external vendors.
  • Maintain program calendars, participant tracking systems, and outcome reporting.
  • Track grant deliverables, prepare progress reports, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Monitor program budgets, manage vendor relationships, and support event logistics.
  • Manage the CHI database and support data collection and analysis to measure program impact.
  • Maintain confidential participant records in accordance with HIPAA and privacy standards.
  • Support patient navigation and community service inquiries, including referrals to primary care, specialty care, and social service resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of experience in administrative support, customer service, and/or volunteer coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with website editing and CRM/database systems.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and executing events.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to take initiative.
  • Recognized as a team player with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support volunteers.
  • Ability to read Chinese.
  • Fluency in at least one major Chinese dialect (Mandarin or Cantonese).

Salary Range:

$37.24 - $55.85 USD Hour
