Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Director of IT Applications. A key member of the IT Leadership Team, the Director of IT Applications will lead PCC Metals & Forgings group's Segment-wide business solutions such as ERP, Quality, MES, LIMS, and shop floor manufacturing applications for the Metals and Wyman-Gordon Divisions. This position is accountable for application project delivery and support for ERPs (Infor Syteline, SAP, Oracle, and others) including functional implementations and upgrades. One of the key projects will be transformation process to consolidate multiple ERPs and business processes into one ERP system based on standardized business processes. This position will focus on leading the people and managing processes involved in efficiently addressing manufacturing solutions, releases, and functional upgrades driven by global business solutions demand and according to planned roadmaps. Additionally, this position is responsible for driving new business solutions while enforcing best business practices and standards in the support, maintenance, and management of lifecycle of these solutions.

Essential Functions

Director

  • Implements business solutions strategy and roadmap for PCC Metals & Forgings including on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid cloud solutions and applications
  • Leads functional ERP transformation program to consolidate multiple ERP into one
  • Is accountable for the performance and delivery of shop floor systems as well as ERPs with support of custom development
  • Develops Division/Segment strategic plans, including determination of business, production and/or organizational priorities mapped into business solutions roadmaps
  • Makes sound decisions guided by resource availability and business priorities
  • Defines and executes stakeholder communication approach for the applications portfolio and ERP transformation
  • Builds strong partnerships with Corporate IT teams and external partners to deliver segment priorities
  • Partners cross-functionally with IT and business stakeholders to achieve agreed business outcomes

Supervisory

  • Leads and develops managers and professional staff
  • Owns performance management processes for the team
  • Coaches and mentors team members to build capability and succession
  • Manages external resources (sourcing contractors, interviewing, and negotiating terms)
  • Sets clear direction, reinforces accountability, and leads by example
  • Balances operational priorities with high-value projects and long-term strategy

Functional

  • Leads delivery of new business solutions, releases, upgrades, and run operations across the applications portfolio
  • Directs internal and partner-led projects aligned to segment business strategies and roadmaps
  • Acts as a key escalation point for critical problems and user issues
  • Develops, implements, and evangelizes key ITIL processes including incident, change, and release
  • Effectively uses project management with balanced mix of traditional and agile methodologies in-line with implementation policies
  • Participates in SOX audits and other compliance activities as needed
  • Negotiates and manages long-term contracts with partners
  • Plans and assigns internal and external resources across run and project work to meet commitments

Communication

  • Aligns stakeholders on priorities, tradeoffs, and resourcing decisions
  • Communicates proactively across functional groups and the IT organization on status, risks, and decisions
  • Presents clearly to executives and key stakeholders to drive decisions and shared understanding
  • Provides periodic portfolio and program reporting (status, risks, and metrics) as required

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred in a related field or recognized qualifications in Computer Science, or a related discipline, MBA is a plus
  • 10+ years of leadership experience (personnel and project management)
  • 5+ years of experience with ERP environments and applications including implementations, upgrades and support; leading large implementations/conversions a plus
  • Syteline, SAP, or Oracle E-business suite experience is a plus
  • Extensive business relationship management with key stakeholders
  • Experience managing large scale enterprise projects including 3rd party integrators
  • Experience with service management and delivery for new business solutions including operations
  • Agile management methodology experience: certification is a plus
  • Cloud application transformation and cloud native services experience
  • Application integration including API management is a plus
