Senior Custodial Lead

Location: Great Falls, Montana (Malmstrom Airforce Base)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time/ Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Compensation: ($22.69 - $22.69/hour) plus an additional $5.09/hour cash payout is offered with qualifying health insurance.

Tessera is seeking a Hard Working and Motivated Senior Custodial Lead with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform custodial cleaning duties while leading by example and providing day-to-day guidance and direction to custodial staff.

  • Ensure all custodial services are completed in accordance with contract requirements, established schedules, and quality standards.

  • Follow and enforce all industrial safety guidelines, required training, and applicable regulations, while promoting a safe and compliant work environment.

  • Maintain a professional work environment and communicate with customers, building occupants, employees, and stakeholders in a courteous and respectful manner while addressing service needs and concerns.

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight to custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective completion of all assigned cleaning tasks.

  • Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and replenish supplies in accordance with contract standards and cross-contamination prevention procedures.

  • Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, wet and dry mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing offices, hallways, stairwells, high-traffic areas, and building entrances and exits.

  • Collect and remove trash and recyclables from offices, break rooms, lunchrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas in compliance with established schedules and procedures.

  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify custodial or maintenance deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions as needed.

  • Oversee daily custodial operations to ensure uninterrupted service delivery across assigned facilities at Malmstrom Air Force Base.

  • Serve as acting Project Manager during absences to maintain leadership continuity and operational stability.

  • Provide supervisory coverage during the absence of other supervisors as needed.

  • Receive, investigate, and resolve customer and employee concerns while addressing operational deficiencies.

  • Ensure custodial equipment is properly maintained, safe to operate, and in functional working condition.

  • Install, maintain, and service dispensing equipment throughout assigned facilities at Malmstrom Air Force Base and Fort Harrison.

  • Assist with ordering, tracking, and managing custodial and operational supplies and support facility stocking needs.

  • Monitor safety compliance and performance metrics to ensure adherence to company and contract safety requirements.

  • Conduct daily safety meetings when the Project Manager is unavailable.

  • Train and retrain employees on standard operating procedures, cleaning protocols, and safety requirements.

  • Assist employees with work documentation and administrative processes as needed.

  • All Other Duties as Assigned*

Qualifications:

  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience required.

  • Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, sanitation practices, and cross-contamination prevention.

  • Ability to follow safety regulations and contract requirements.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently and lead by example.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
