From your PASSION to ours

Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Packaging Operator II - String based in Nampa, ID.

Requirements

The Operator II supports the operational flow of packaging equipment, ensures product quality and identification/labeling are correct, and follows all Food Safety Management System guidelines while helping the team meet production targets safely and efficiently.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

* Operate and monitor assigned packaging equipment at set speeds with minimal interruption; reduce downtime and waste.

* Perform product changeovers and basic setups using correct measurements for specific packages.

* Complete quality checks (seals, weights, labels) and CCP documentation accurately and on time.

* Reset minor jams/faults and escalate mechanical issues promptly to reduce unplanned downtime.

* Provide breaks for other operator positions on the line and maintain smooth workflow across stations.

* Stage materials (film, boxes, labels); verify lot codes and product identification.

* Follow sanitation procedures; maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (5S).

* Take immediate corrective action for any product outside specifications; communicate with QA/supervisors.

* Participate in audits; maintain ISO 22000/ISO 9001/HACCP compliance.

* Attend department meetings and trainings; contribute to continuous improvement activities.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

* High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

* 6-12 months in food manufacturing or packaging preferred (or transferable manufacturing/warehouse experience).

* Familiarity with food safety and quality standards a plus.

Specialized Knowledge

* Basic math and the ability to calculate averages

Skills / Abilities

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to follow SOPs and complete simple line documentation.

* Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

* Work autonomously and as part of a team; communicate clearly with peers and supervisors.

* Safety mindset: use proper PPE, follow procedures, and report hazards promptly.

* Proactively spot issues early and take action before they become problems.

Professional Certifications

* None required.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to stand for 12 hours per shift.
* Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Comfortable working in a cold/damp production area with PPE provided.
* Willingness to work overtime as needed.
