Summary:

We are seeking a per diem SpeechLanguage Pathologist who is open to supporting both acute care and outpatient settings. Coverage may occasionally be needed during the week or on weekends and holidays when team members are out sick or scheduled off, and we can offer flexibility in return. In this role, the SLP provides evidencebased evaluations, treatment interventions, and education for patients and caregivers across a variety of diagnoses affecting communication, swallowing, cognition, and related disorders. The clinician also participates in student shadowing, clinical instruction, and departmental or community education and outreach.

Our per diem roles offer a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work with a wide range of diagnoses, from postsurgical and chronic pain to neurological and vestibular conditions. We prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring a manageable caseload that allows you to focus on meaningful, patientcentered care. Opportunities are available in both our acute care setting and our outpatient clinic, which is uniquely located within a wellness center to support a seamless transition for patients graduating from therapy.

Responsibilities:

1. Completes speech lang pathologist documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines. Manage daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy. Meets productivity standards per team guidelines.
2. Administers basic evaluation and diagnostic testing and analysis, establishes a plan of care that consists of current and advanced techniques and subsequent modification to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
3. Provides clinical precepting and teaching for graduate students, staff, and clinical fellows under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts.
4. Assists in the planning and coordinating of innovative clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist, supervisor, or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.

Education Requirements:
* Graduation from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Speech-Language Pathology certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
* BLS within 3 months of hire date.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills; requires physical stamina and repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting during patient interventions while supporting one's weight; can engage in high-level problem-solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
