THE ROLE

Join AMD's Advanced System Development (ASD) team within Client Platform Systems, where we create intelligent system-level technologies that optimize power, performance, and user experience across next-generation computing platforms. Working at the intersection of hardware and software, you will help define and develop innovative platform features that improve how users interact with AMD-powered systems.

In this role, you will collaborate across engineering disciplines including platform architecture, power/performance engineering, validation, release engineering, and software teams. You will transform product requirements into scalable engineering solutions while contributing to technologies that directly impact millions of end users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate product requirements into engineering specifications and technical solutions
  • Participate in end-to-end feature development from requirements through validation and release
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful feature integration
  • Analyze system-level interactions involving CPU, memory, operating systems, and peripherals
  • Support design reviews, validation activities, and feature optimization efforts
  • Drive engineering problem-solving through data analysis and systems thinking
  • Contribute to scalable, maintainable, and reusable engineering solutions
  • Partner with subject matter experts to evaluate technical tradeoffs and platform capabilities

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with system-level hardware and software architectures
  • Knowledge of CPU, memory, operating system, and peripheral interactions
  • Experience participating in product or feature development lifecycles
  • Familiarity with requirements analysis, specification development, and validation processes
  • Background in platform systems, computer architecture, systems software, embedded systems, or related domains
  • Experience working in semiconductor, computing, or technology environments
  • Exposure to Git/GitHub workflows, code reviews, and configuration management practices
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and modern development methodologies

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred inElectrical Engineering,Computer Engineering,Computer Science,Software Engineering or related Engineering Discipline
