You Are: We are seeking an experienced Digital Manufacturing Techno-Functional Expert with strong expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Factory Automation platforms to lead and deliver Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory initiatives. The opportunity: * Hybrid: In office/remote * Digital Manufacturing & MES (OT) o Design, implement, and enhance MES solutions including SAP ME/MII/DM, Siemens Opcenter, DELMIA Apriso, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Ignition, and GE Proficy. o Translate shop-floor processes into MES workflows such as production execution, WIP tracking, genealogy, track & trace, serialization, quality inspections, EBR, and EWI. o Enable real-time dashboards for OEE, downtime analysis, throughput, and KPI monitoring. * Factory Automation Integration (OT) o Integrate MES with PLC, SCADA, DCS, IIoT devices, AGVs/AMRs, and shop-floor equipment. o Work with Siemens, Rockwell Automation, and GE automation platforms. o Implement machine connectivity using OPC-UA, MQTT, REST APIs, and other industrial protocols. * Enterprise Systems Integration (IT) o Integrate MES with SAP S/4HANA (PP, QM, PM, MM), EWM, WMS, PLM, and non-SAP ERP systems. o Ensure master data consistency between ERP and MES systems. o Design and support interfaces using middleware and API-based architectures. * Industry 4.0 & Smart Factory o Implement Smart Factory use cases such as Digital Andon, predictive maintenance, energy monitoring, and paperless manufacturing. o Support edge computing, IIoT, and digital twin initiatives. o Enable data models for advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases. * Stakeholder Engagement & Consulting o Work closely with plant managers, production supervisors, quality teams, and IT stakeholders. o Conduct workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and shop-floor assessments. o Support global rollouts, pilots, training, and change management. This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required. What you need: * 9+ years of experience in Manufacturing OT, Digital Manufacturing, or Industrial Automation. * Hands-on experience with at least two MES platforms. * Strong experience integrating MES with automation and enterprise systems. * Direct experience working with manufacturing plants is mandatory. * Preferred Technical Skills * PLC & Automation: Siemens S7, Rockwell ControlLogix, Modbus. * SCADA: WinCC, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View. * Protocols: OPC-UA, MQTT, REST APIs. * Databases: SQL Server, Oracle. * Programming/Scripting: Python, Java, or C#. * Manufacturing standards: ISA-95 / ISA-88, OEE, production KPIs. * Domain Experience (Preferred) * Process or Discrete Manufacturing * Process modeling (BPMN 2.0), process mining * SAP Signavio Business Process Transformation Suite or Equivalent * Pharma / Life Sciences * FMCG / Food & Beverage * Electronics / Semiconductor * Education * B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. Manufacturing background preferred over pure IT. * Soft Skills * Ability to engage with both plant-level and IT leadership. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and workshop facilitation abilities. * Experience working in global, multi-plant environments. * Good to Have * SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing knowledge. * Exposure to SAP DMC implementation strategy (Preferred) * Exposure to IIoT platforms such as ThingWorx, MindSphere, Azure IoT, or AWS IoT. * Experience with manufacturing analytics and edge computing. * Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure. Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below. Role Location: Illinois Compensation Range : $118,000-$177,000 Benefits Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico. Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
