Primary Purpose:
Provides enterprisewide technology leadership, guiding strategy, architectural direction, major investments, and organizational capability. Shapes longrange technology vision, influences executive decisionmaking, and ensures alignment across multiple divisions and functions.


The Director, Financial Systems & Finance Enterprise Resource Planning Transformation will lead SoCalGas and SDG&E through an enterprise-wide finance transformation, serving as the executive business owner for the SAP S/4HANA-enabled modernization of ERP platforms and processes. This role is accountable for delivering measurable business value, ensuring regulatory alignment, driving organizational adoption, and leading the finance systems support team.


This leader will define the end-state finance systems strategy and oversee end-to-end delivery of the SAP finance transformation, including serving as the primary policy witness for regulatory cost recovery approval. The role establishes strong governance, drives continuous improvement, and integrates emerging technologies, including AI-enabled automation, to improve efficiency and performance.


The Director oversees technical, functional, and organizational change management workstreams; manages relationships with ERP vendors, system integrators, and external partners; and ensures effective communication and alignment across internal stakeholders.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Defines enterprise technology strategy and ensures alignment with organizational goals.
  • Leads large, complex portfolios involving multiple functions, business units, or global teams.
  • Oversees strategic planning, budgeting, and investment decisions for major technology domains.
  • Shapes multiyear modernization or transformation efforts with enterpriselevel impact.
  • Partners with senior executives to guide prioritization, sequencing, and value realization for technology initiatives.
  • Ensures governance frameworks, operating models, and organizational structures scale with business growth.
  • Represents the technology organization in highlevel decision forums, steering committees, and strategic partnerships.
  • Identifies emerging risks, opportunities, and trends to shape future technology direction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Requires a 4 year degree.
  • Typically requires 12 years of related experience.

  • Programming/Scripting - Applies a computer language to communicate with computers using a set of instructions and to automate the execution of tasks.
  • Requirements Management - The process of documenting, analyzing, tracing, prioritizing and agreeing on requirements and then controlling change and communicating to relevant stakeholders.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - A process used by the software industry to design, develop and test high quality software.
  • Software Testing - An investigation conducted to provide stakeholders with information about the quality of the software product or service under test.

  • Agile Methodologies - A project management approach utilized in software development, which is characterized by the division of tasks into short phases of work (known as sprints) and frequent reassessment and adaptation of plans.
  • Debugging - The process of finding and resolving bugs within computer programs, software, or systems.
  • Cloud Computing - Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources, especially data storage and computing power, without direct active management by the user.

SDG&E offers a competitive total rewards package that goes beyond base salary. This position is eligible for an annual performance-based incentive (bonus) as well as long-term incentive plans and other merit-based recognition. Our Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP) is one way we recognize employee's' work to help us execute and deliver on our strategic priorities. The target for this position is an award of 25% of base salary and is based on individual and company performance for the plan year.
