Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Regulatory Scientist in Hanover, PA. The Regulatory Scientist will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements for new and existing products. This role involves leading the regulatory strategy, managing regulatory submissions, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations. The Regulatory Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, sales, marketing, and legal, to ensure that all products meet regulatory standards.



We welcome applications from May 2026 graduates with a degree in food science, food regulatory affairs, Chemistry or a related field.



Responsibilities



  • Lead the development and implementation of regulatory strategies for new product development and existing products.
  • Evaluate and approve ingredient claims, ensuring they comply with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and review legally mandated label copy, ingredient statements, nutritional information, and product feature claims, ensuring they are substantiated and documented.
  • Stay abreast of current and new FDA, USDA, and other applicable agency regulations and guidelines, and ensure adherence throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Communicate the impact of changes in the regulatory environment and modify respective strategies accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with regulatory agencies.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and support to cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure quality and food safety tasks are performed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Follow food safety practices and all applicable requirements of the SQF System.
  • Report food safety problems to appropriate personnel.


Requirements



  • A Bachelor's degree in food science, food regulatory affairs, or a related field is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, human relations, and people management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
