TheConstruction Engineering Services Practice is seeking a Construction Inspectorin Kennewick, Pasco, or Richland, WA (Tri-Cities).

In thisposition,you will provideon-site constructioninspectionsand applicable documentation for transportation projects. This includes observation of construction work activities for compliance with plans and specifications, preparation of required contract documentation, and following prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures consistent with State and Local guidelines.

• Coordinate, perform, andmonitor constructionworkactivitiesinthe field.
• Inspect,observe,andensure thata construction project is constructed in
  accordance with contract plans and specifications.
• Maintainaccuratedaily records (Inspector's Daily Reports,IDRs) of the work
  (labor, equipment,materialson hand, quantities, etc.).
• Identifycontract changes andassistin preparation of change orders.
• Communicate effectively with the Contractors, Owners, Construction Manager,
  Project Documentation Engineer, or other field engineering staff.
• Prepare field note records (FNRs)for documenting work completedfor
  progress payments.
• Coordinate for required materials sampling and testing.

• At least 5 years of construction inspection experience working on large
  roadways,bridges,and highway projects
• Basic computer skills inMS Word and MS Excel
• Ability to work effectively with client representatives, contractors, the public,
  as well as peersand subordinates
• Excellent skills in working independentlyin the field
• The successful candidate must be able to effectively multitask and prioritize
  and track construction issuesthroughcompletion
• Clean driving record

• General contracting experience
• WSDOTproject experience(ODOT andITDalso considered)
• WSDOTInspector Certifications(ODOT andITDalso considered)
• Experience inspecting Federally funded projects
• Steel Coating experience with NACE 3 certification is desirable
