PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $18 - $25/hr hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

PLEASE NOTE

As a BECU Intern, you will not be eligible for any benefit plans or arrangements that aregenerally availableto BECU employees, except for paid time off (PTO). You willaccrue12 hours over the summer which you may use or be paid out at the end of your intern assignment if unused.

LOCATION

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, AZ, or TX. Ifyou'relocatedwithin a reasonable driving distance fromTukwila, we arerequestingthat you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.For those candidatesthat live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE

As a Software Developer Intern at BECU, you will contribute to building and enhancing enterprise-class software that supports our business and member experience. You will work under the guidance of experienced developers to support the design, development, testing, and improvement of software solutions. Through hands-on collaboration and real-world problem solving, you will build foundational technical skills while contributing to meaningful work that helps drive efficiency and innovation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Collaborate with Your Team: Work with developers, analysts, and partners to support technical solutions that align with business needs.
  • Develop and Enhance Software: Contribute to building software features, prototypes, and solutions using foundational software development concepts.
  • Write and Test Code: Support coding, testing, debugging, and documentation efforts to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions.
  • Support Development Practices: Follow programming standards, team processes, and development best practices throughout your work.
  • Troubleshoot and Improve Solutions: Assist in identifying issues and supporting debugging and problem-solving efforts across development environments.
  • Contribute to Data and Systems Work: Support activities related to data models, database scripts, and system updates under guidance.
  • Assist with Build and Deployment Processes: Contribute to continuous integration and deployment activities to support reliable software delivery.
  • Participate in Team Collaboration: Engage in team discussions, planning sessions, and collaborative problem-solving activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or has graduated from one of these programs within the past twelve months.
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, or software development concepts, with exposure to modern development tools and technologies, including AI-assisted coding tools.
