Overview We are seeking an Endpoint Engineer to join our enterprise engineering team supporting and improving endpoint management across a large-scale environment of 40,000 devices. This role focuses on engineering solutions, standardizing processes, and improving endpoint management workflows across the organization. This is an engineering-focused role, not traditional desktop support. While the engineer will work with incidents and collaborate with users, the primary focus is deep troubleshooting, automation, and building scalable solutions that improve the overall endpoint environment. *Required in order to be considered:* Candidate must already be living in New York and within a commutable distance of Buffalo, NY. Out-of-state candidates will not be considered. * relocation not being offered Candidate must not require any form of sponsorship: Sub-vendor candidates will not be considered Candidate must be able to work on a W2 Candidate must be coming from an enterprise environment: (This environment currently has 40,000 endpoints) Responsibilities *Engineer and maintain enterprise endpoint management solutions *Drive process improvements and standardization across endpoint support and deployment *Troubleshoot complex Windows desktop and endpoint issues *Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and end users *Support endpoint lifecycle management across physical and virtual desktops *Implement and manage solutions using tools such as Intune, SCCM, and Group Policy *Participate in scheduled after-hours changes when required *Ensure endpoint processes align with enterprise security, compliance, and change management standards Qualifications Required *Experience supporting enterprise Windows endpoint environments *Hands-on experience with Intune, SCCM/MECM, or similar endpoint management platforms *Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills *Experience working in large enterprise environments *Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and end users -Proven hands-on experience with application control technologies such as WDAC, Ivanti Application Control, ThreatLocker, or AppLocker, including policy design, troubleshooting, and exception management. -Strong security-focused engineering mindset with experience implementing and supporting enterprise endpoint controls. -Demonstrated ability to manage and enforce enterprise device policies at scale while maintaining system stability and user experience. -Solid understanding of operational processes, including change management, documented procedures, governance, and audit readiness. OVERVIEW: Serves as advanced technologist for an individual technology or set of technologies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with Technology management, senior Engineers, and support teams on a regular basis to implement and manage the design, development, and execution of technical solutions that meet or exceed current and future needs of the organization. Responsibilities may include infrastructure review, implementation, and design, creation of support and architectural documentation, standards, policies, analysis, and testing. Regularly and independently interact with business partners of varying associate and management levels to ensure clarity of the problem/opportunity and elicit business requirements. Coordinate vendor interactions and/or vendor resources as needed. Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, technicians, and integrators. Review documentation, proposals, and changes proposed by less experienced staff. Seek to expand knowledge and understanding of Financial Services trends, practices, and technologies on a continuous basis. Follow and promote use of industry best practices, standards and procedures. Maintain a strong aptitude and working knowledge of Bank applications, systems, development environments. Maintain a detailed understanding of vendor technologies and services used by the Bank. Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Combined minimum of 6 years higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Minimum 6 years professional experience in a technical engineering position involving infrastructure design technologies, data management and interchange, system design and/or development for complex applications. Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured high quality implementations using any variety of industry standard approaches. Advanced technical skills.
