Responsibilities NV5 is seeking a Project Archaeologist for our Alpharetta, GA office. While this position may contribute to various types of archaeological investigations and reports, the primary role of the open position is as lead SOI-qualified construction monitor for the preservation of sensitive resources. The Lead Monitor is expected to be on-site at all times during construction, and/or maintain a roster and schedule additional monitors as needed. The Lead Monitor is responsible for the production of daily, weekly, and end-of-field reporting under the supervision of a Senior Archaeologist (Principal Investigator) and to maintain security cameras and other equipment as needed. The Lead Monitor will maintain effective and successful communication with project team, co-workers, and clients.
The Project Archaeologist reports to the Senior Archaeologist (Principal Investigator). Location flexibility may be possible for the preferred candidate; one or more positions may be filled through this announcement. Although the monitoring program is project-based, the successful candidate will be considered for longer-term, permanent, and more senior roles.
