Job Title: Medical Staff Credentialing SpecialistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist to join our team. The role involves engaging in credentialing functions for medical and allied health staff, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of credential files, supporting providers during onboarding, and maintaining strict confidentiality. This position requires a minimum of three years of experience in medical staff within an acute care or hospital setting. Responsibilities * Engage in all assigned credentialing functions for medical and allied health staff, including appointment, reappointment, privileging, and focused professional practice evaluations/proctoring. * Ensure credential files are error-free, accurate, complete, and processed promptly. * Support providers in the onboarding process, including computer access, necessary training, orientation, and badging. * Maintain current knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies related to medical staff and regulatory agency requirements. * Assist in maintaining the medical staff database while ensuring strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the medical staff. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Essential Skills * Process documentation and NCQA standards. * Medical staff coordination. * Minimum of three years of experience in medical staff within an acute care/hospital setting. * Familiarity with Joint Commission standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications * CPCS/CPMSM certification preferred but not required. * High School Education/GED or equivalent preferred. * Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred. * Two years' experience in a medical staff services department or other related setting preferred. * Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification required.
