Quality Engineer - Product Quality Lead

Location: Harahan, LA or Hammond, LA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM negotiable (Overtime and weekend work may be required)
Reports to: Quality Manager

Intralox, L.L.C., a division of Laitram, L.L.C., is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Quality Department. This role will serve as the Product Quality Lead, driving quality initiatives across the full product lifecycle, focused on our FoodSafe product line.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality efforts across all stages of the FoodSafe product lifecycle-from development and release to production, customer feedback, and end-of-life
  • Coordinate timely and effective responses to customer complaints related to product performance, including implementation of corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and critical success factors
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action programs
  • Monitor key quality metrics and apply tools and systems to drive improvement
  • Support the development and maintenance of product quality specifications
  • Manage and enhance documentation of quality processes and procedures
  • Research and champion new quality technologies to support ongoing improvement
  • Evaluate and continuously improve the current Quality Management System (QMS)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment and/or plastics injection molding
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of quality concepts, tools, statistics, engineering processes, and change management
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SigmaXL, MiniTab, InfinityQS, etc.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for learning and growth
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to foster trust and assume good intentions in workplace relationships
  • Proven ability to lead through principles rather than authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial, Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Six Sigma certification and experience
  • Professional quality certifications (ASQ, QAI, CSSC, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Intralox products and manufacturing processes
