About the Role

Culmen International, LLC is seeking a proactive, self-starting Junior Payroll Clerkto directly support our Payroll Manager in managing high-volume US Payroll Operations.

This is an ideal entry-level position for a high-energy professional who is eager to build a career in on the accounting and finance side of human resources. The successful candidate will be someone who takes extreme pride in their accuracy and is looking for a role where they can learn the complexities of corporate financial operations from the ground up.



What You'll Do in Your New Role

    Direct Support to Payroll Manager: Act as a reliable right hand to the Manager assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks, audit preparation, and special financial projects.
  • US Payroll Processing: Assist in the end-to-end processing of semi-monthly payroll for about 330+ employees, ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness. This requires use of Deltek Costpoint accounting software, Unanet timekeeping system, and the UKG (formerly known as UltiPro) payroll processing platform.
  • Tax Setup & Compliance: Manage the accurate setup and maintenance of Federal, State, and Local tax profiles (W-4s, SIT/SUI) for a diverse workforce.
  • Data Integrity: Handle high-volume input of hours, deductions and employee record changes; proactively identifying and flagging discrepancies.
  • Digital Record Management: Maintain and organize 100% digital payroll records, ensuring all documentation is securely archived and audit-ready within our electronic systems.
  • Financial Learning: Assist in basic reconciliations and reporting to gain a deeper understanding of the intersection between payroll and corporate accounting.


Required Qualifications

  • Career Interest: A genuine desire to learn and grow within the HR, accounting, and finance fields.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: Proven ability to take initiative, manage a daily workflow independently, and meet strict deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are essential (must be comfortable with basic formulas and data formatting).
  • Digital Literacy: Strong proficiency in managing electronic files, cloud-based storage, and digital document workflows.
  • High-Volume Accuracy: Ability to maintain a "zero-mistake" mindset while handling data for a large workforce.
  • U.S. Tax Literacy: Fundamental understanding of payroll tax forms and the ability to input withholding data accurately for various states.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in an office or administrative setting.
  • Experience with specialized payroll or accounting software (e.g., Deltek, Unanet, or similar).
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll cycles and tax laws.
