What You'll Do

SourceAmerica is seeking a Instructional Technology Designer to join the Mission Services team. This role creates, designs, re-designs, ensures accessibility, and provides technology support for SourceAmerica training programs. Revising existing learning experiences as well as developing new learning content in partnership with SourceAmerica experts, instructors, and external training consultants that meet Section 508 compliance needs. Collaborate with individuals throughout the organization, ensuring work and schedules meet internal and external requirements. Contribute to team problem solving, are often responsible for resolution within their scope of work, and provide regular/frequent updates on the progress of assignments.

*Due to the requirements of this position, candidates must live within 30 miles or less of the SourceAmerica's National Office, Vienna, VA; Kennesaw, GA; Arlington, TX; or Rosemont, IL field offices and work 2-3 days per week in the office.

How You Will Spend Your Day ...

  • Collaborates with other team members, instructors, and external training consultants to create original, dynamic instructor-led training and eLearning modules and to update existing training.
  • Provides learning design expertise for SourceAmerica conference activities, learning sessions, and content modules by developing and overseeing project plans, managing processes through final production for distribution or live dissemination. Updates, reviews, and provides corrections of current course offerings by designing instructor and participant materials, supporting slide decks, and providing coaching to instructors on best practices for instruction and facilitation.
  • Creates and implements the production and deliverables timeline for projects.
  • Manage projects in a collaborative online platform.
  • Maintains an understanding of live sessions and e-learning techniques, and authoring tools.
  • Supports technology needs of virtual webinars and trainings, including moderating the virtual session, tracking attendance, and providing post-session design support as needed.
  • Provides support to the Xforce Conference and to the Learning Design and Development Team as needed.

Salary Range

The salary for this position falls in a range between $90,000 - $100,000 depending on your experience and geographic location in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Deep understanding of instructional design principles and extensive experience with Adult Learning Theory
  • Maintains an understanding of e-learning techniques and authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia
  • Knowledge of webinar techniques and using facilitation tools in Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience utilizing and managing content in a learning management system such as Absorb
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SourceAmerica uses Dynamics 365)
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and problemsolve under time pressure
  • Flexible schedule and ability to travel periodically

Preferred Qualifications ...

  • Experience developing a wide variety of learning programs and multiple modalities including web-based training
  • Experience with blended, synchronous, and asynchronous training, including creating instructor and participant guides, presentations, job aids, and technical accessibility accommodations including captioning, transcriptions, and other Section 508 Accessibility basics
  • Experience working with subject matter experts to develop content
