Position Summary

The mission SOM Office of Research (OoR) is to support research in the School of Medicine under the direction of the Vice Dean for Research. The office oversees the infrastructure, communication and development necessary for a strong and growing research enterprise which supports more than $580M in external grant funding annually. Collaboration is one of the great strengths of UNC-Chapel Hill's research enterprise and the OoR works closely with many different units and offices throughout the institution to increase interdisciplinary science and maximize the resources available to our researchers.

The OoR invites applications for the position of Training Grant Project Manager. This position provides high level support for the large and growing number of successful training grants administered by the School of Medicine. The portfolio consists of largely NIH funded proposals that require substantial data collection and reporting. To continue to successfully renew these grants and obtain new strategic training grants, the OoR is hiring a project manager to provide comprehensive support for the organization and development of training grant applications and related resources. This position will serve as the central point person in the SOM to coordinate efforts that proactively develop and implement resources, educate the community, and promote best practices and data sharing. This process requires significant input and outreach with the training grant community to enhance the available resources available. This position will coordinate these efforts.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity or professional-level background in sponsored research administration, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.

Experience with the culture and data requirements for training grants
Experience with pre-award grant development
