Work Schedule: Full-time, Swing Shift

Compensation: $28.22/hour

Tessera is seeking a Working Janitor Lead with a positive attitude and strong leadership skills. The Janitorial Working Team Lead assists the supervisor with overseeing and coordinating the janitorial crew in all required activities across JBLM facilities. This role includes assigning, coordinating, and tracking employee work assignments; reviewing work orders; monitoring safety; ensuring quality standards; and maintaining documentation of completed work.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Working Janitor Lead actively performs all janitorial duties alongside the crew, helping to complete daily tasks, support workload distribution, and model proper cleaning techniques. The Working Janitor Lead is also responsible for helping train new and existing employees, ensuring they are fully familiar with assigned routes, expectations, and proper

procedures.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the supervisor with coordinating, directing, and supporting the janitorial crew in all required activities across JBLM facilities.

  • Perform all regular janitorial duties as a working lead, supporting daily task completion and modeling proper cleaning techniques.

  • Train new and existing employees, ensuring all staff are familiar with assigned routes, expectations, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Assign, coordinate, and track employee work assignments; review work orders and verify completed tasks.

  • Complete and maintain required documentation, including training records, attendance, schedules, and daily/weekly reports.

  • Conduct supply and equipment inventories; make recommendations for replenishment or replacement.

  • Document, report, and help resolve quality control issues, customer complaints, and service concerns.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and maintain an accidentfree work environment.

  • Monitor employee wellbeing and support daily workflow, offering guidance, coaching, and corrective instruction as needed.

  • Participate with rehabilitation staff in supporting individual evaluations, training plans, and employee development programs.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years Lead experience, preferably in a janitorial work setting required.

  • Experience in training and working with people with disabilities preferred.

  • Experience with scheduling and report documentation

  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to work a 40-hour work week.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
