Cambridge, MD (Calgaz) - Industrial spec gas How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Airgas Specialty Gases ("ASG") is actively seeking a Plant Operator II to work as part of the production team using pressure systems to safely fill gas cylinders to the required specification. The individual will perform (but not be limited to) the following responsibilities
  • To fill cylinders to correct specification of contents and pressure using transfilling pressure equipment and PPM Work Order

  • Maintaining high company health and safety standards, always ensuring that company rules and guidelines are adhered to.

  • Ensuring companies' quality expectations are met. Striving to meet customers' demands and giving customers the best experience where possible.

  • Working efficiently whilst maintaining health and safety rules plus quality standards, ensuring companies strict production deadlines and delivery targets are met.

  • To use ovens to pre-treat cylinders where appropriate.

  • Safe manual handling of gas cylinders

  • Conduct daily checks on equipment.

  • Communicate any issues or non-conformances to management and other operational departments as necessary.

  • Always aim to meet or exceed the production targets set out by the Production and Planning Supervisor, whilst fully following procedures to maintain Health and Safety and Quality standards.

  • Follow Start-Up and Shut-Down Procedures

  • Follow all Safety and Work Site Policies

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent preferred

  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately follow a process are essential.

  • Possess a full range of motion; ability to lift 50 pounds

  • A chemical background would also be desirable.

  • Ability to work both individually and promote a team environment across departments and shifts.

  • Flexibility with respect to shifts and overtime, with a customer focused approach in order to meet demand.

  • Ability to understand and comply with the established Quality System and to report any quality deficiencies

  • Ability to understand and comply with all safety regulations and guidelines while on company and/or customer property

  • Ability to be on his or her feet for extended periods of time

  • Computer savvy including Intelex, MS Word, MS Excel, Google, etc...
