About the role Overview The Vice President of M&A will join Reworld at a pivotal stage of growth as the company accelerates the expansion of its profile waste capabilities through strategic acquisitions. This is a high-visibility, senior leadership role responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and executing 5-10 platform and tuck-in acquisitions annually across existing and new markets. Working closely with the ELT, CEO, and Board, this leader will shape and execute Reworld's corporate development strategy, owning transactions end-to-end from origination and diligence through negotiation and deal closure. This executive will build and lead a growing M&A organization while maintaining a highly hands-on role in deal origination with founders, owners, intermediaries, and financial sponsors across the waste and industrial materials ecosystem. Success requires deep transaction experience, strong financial and strategic acumen, and firsthand industry exposure in MSW waste, special waste, or heavy industrial materials. Through disciplined execution and cross-functional coordination, the Vice President of M&A will drive sustained, value-accretive growth aligned with Reworld's long-term strategic objectives and performance culture. Key Responsibilities Mergers & Acquisitions Execution: Lead the full M&A lifecycle, including market mapping, industry research, strategic target identification, valuation, financial modeling, deal structuring, due diligence, negotiation, investment committee approval, and transaction closings. This leader will prepare and present senior executive and Board-level acquisition materials to support disciplined investment decisions. Business Development & Deal Origination: This role will proactively source acquisition opportunities through direct outreach to founders, operators, intermediaries, and financial sponsors. The Vice President will also represent Reworld at key industry conferences, networking events, and trade forums to cultivate relationships and uncover off-market opportunities. The Vice President will build and actively manage a robust national acquisition pipeline across the industrial materials, recycling, and special waste sectors while coordinating closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to advance transactions efficiently. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Delivery: Build and lead a high-performing M&A and project management organization. Drive accountability across internal teams and external partners, including engineering, legal, sourcing, contractors, and regulators, to ensure seamless coordination and execution across multiple concurrent projects. Financial, Risk & Governance Oversight: Maintain full ownership of acquisition economics, return thresholds, and disciplined capital deployment. This role will proactively manage transaction and regulatory risk while maintaining strong governance, reporting cadence, and consistent Board-level communication. Pivotal Experience & Business Impact M&A and Corporate Development Experience: Proven history of executing multiple transactions annually within asset-intensive, regulated industries, with individual deal sizes ranging from lower-middle to upper-middle market. Demonstrated experience leading 5-10+ acquisitions or strategic investments per year across full-cycle execution, including target origination, valuation, diligence, negotiation, and investment committee approval. Strong record of driving measurable EBITDA growth, market expansion, and portfolio scale through disciplined capital deployment. Industry Experience 15+ years of direct operating and transaction experience within waste, special waste, and/or heavy industrial materials, supported by hands-on exposure to environmentally regulated assets, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and treatment infrastructure. Brings deep familiarity with permitting timelines, environmental risk mitigation, and asset-level performance drivers across multi-site networks exceeding 20+ locations. Strategic Vision & Team Execution Rigor: Proven success building and leading high-performing M&A teams of 2+ professionals while managing 10+ active transactions in parallel. Demonstrated ability to translate long-term growth strategies into disciplined acquisition roadmaps that consistently deliver 5-10 closed deals per year through rigorous pipeline management and cross-functional execution. Financial Acumen: Strong command of capital planning, return underwriting, and cost control across large, multi-site investment programs. Experienced in managing large capital budgets, tracking performance against pro forma assumptions, and driving accountability for on-time, on-budget delivery. Brings a disciplined, ROI-focused mindset to infrastructure expansion and M&A deployment. Pay Transparency Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
