Moog Medical Devices Group specializes in designing, manufacturing, and distributing industry-leading enteral feeding and infusion pumps. Through substantial investment in research and development and leveraging our extensive expertise, we meticulously design and develop advanced infusion systems that enhance medication safety, optimize application performance, and effectively reduce medical expenses.

We are seeking a Manager, Operations Engineering. You will lead manufacturing and service engineers to improve existing processes on existing products to improve quality, assure compliance and reduce standard costs as well as design and implement manufacturing and service processes for new products. You will implement plans aligned to the strategic objectives for the site. In this on-site role you will be a member of the site leadership team and will report to the Site Director in Salt Lake City, Utah.

As a Manager, Operations Engineering you will...

  • Define and execute the site automation strategy

  • Plan, implement, and track strategic operations and engineering projects

  • Analyze operations metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives

  • Improve operational business and quality processes, including CAPA ownership

  • Develop, submit, manage, and track site CAPEX budgets

  • Prepare and present regular status reports to site leadership

  • Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team through goal setting, performance management, mentoring, and training

  • Create and execute training plans while ensuring timely completion of required training

  • Plan, allocate, and manage engineering resources aligned with site priorities

  • Lead new product introductions, line development, and manufacturing transfers

  • Proactively identify and resolve production, service, and quality issues

  • Compile, analyze, and report production and service KPIs (efficiency, cost, scrap, throughput)

  • Promote Lean, Six Sigma, and Shingo principles to minimize waste

  • Lead implementation of manufacturing processes, material handling systems, and equipment

  • Support additional projects as requested by site leadership

To be considered for the Manager, Operations Engineering you will need...

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline or related degree with a minimum of seven (7) years' experience in medical device manufacturing or similar industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach, and develop others

  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification

  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously within scope.

  • Experience with project management methodologies (Waterfall, and Agile)

  • Experience with Risk Management methodologies

  • Ability to resolve manufacturing and service problems.

  • Understand documentation, electromechanical assembly and manufacturing methods such as automated assembly equipment, manufacturing jigs and fixtures, etc.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Visio, Project)

  • Strong communication skills with all levels of technical and operating personnel, and customers/suppliers.

  • Ability to succeed in highly regulated environment while still providing service excellence

  • Ability to apply statistical techniques such as process capability, Gage R&R, ANOVA, Design of Experiments, etc.

Salary Range Transparency:

Salt Lake City, UT $130,000.00-$170,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
