Overview

Helio Health's Outreach & Engagement team is seeking a peer to help individuals access detox and inpatient treatment services. While the candidate does not need their peer certification (CRPA) prior to hire, they must be willing to obtain their CRPA within six months of hire.

In this role, the peer will work closely with clinicians to connect clients to the care they need, guiding them from assessment to admission. The placement specialist will play a key role in navigating treatment systems, coordinating placements, and supporting individuals during a critical moment in their recovery.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

In addition to Helio Health's comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time hires for this position are eligible for a $1500 or $3000 Sign-On incentive depending on licensure.

Pay rate: $22-$23 per hour.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate detox and inpatient treatment placements following clinical assessments
  • Contact treatment providers to identify bed availability and complete referrals
  • Maintain communication with clients while placement is pending
  • Support clients in staying engaged and motivated during the process
  • Assist with problem-solving barriers (transportation, logistics, communication)
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians and team members
  • Track placement efforts and provide regular updates to the team
  • Develop knowledge of treatment programs and admission requirements


What This Role Looks Like Day-to-Day

  • You'll receive a case from a clinician who has completed an assessment
  • You'll take the lead on finding an appropriate placement
  • You'll make calls, coordinate with facilities, and follow up as needed
  • You'll stay in contact with the client and help them navigate the process
  • You'll continue working the case until placement is secured.


Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalency required
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) Certification required within six (6) months of hire and maintain CRPA certification throughout employment.
  • One year of Health or Human Service experience preferred.
  • An individual does not need to be in recovery themself but must be able to confer empathy through lived experiences such as family and/or close friends (each peer specialist self-defines his or her "peer-ness").

  • Must have a valid NYS Driver's License.
