| Job Summary |
Instructional Designer II will provide instructional design expertise for the development of online and hybrid/ blended courses and programs, provide technical support related to the
LMS, assist with
LMS migration tasks, and provide training on educational technologies and tools. |
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, education, communications, information technology, curriculum design or related field; three to five years experience in course design, curriculum design or e-learning, preferably in higher education; experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software and Web site design software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
| Preferred Education and Experience |
Master's degree in instructional technology, education, communication, information technology, curriculum design or related field; 5 plus years' experience in course design, curriculum design, e-learning or instructional technology, preferably in higher education; proficiency in Canvas platform; experience designing and supporting courses in various disciplines. Experience in providing training and support on instructional technology, Learning Management Systems (LMSs), content authoring and other digital learning tools, familiarity with emerging technologies. |
| Other Qualifications |
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. |
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
* Collaborate with faculty or subject matter experts (SMEs) on designing and developing online and hybrid/ blended courses, learning materials and resources.
* Provide consultation and support to faculty and SMEs on instructional design principles and quality standards.
* Provide technical support related to the learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas) and integrated technologies.
* Assist with migrating courses from Blackboard Learn to Canvas
LMS.
* Create and maintain support guides, documentation and knowledge base articles.
* Deliver training workshops and develop asynchronous training materials on effective use of the
LMS and related technologies.
* Perform other duties as assigned which could include student worker supervisory responsibilities. |
