**If hired, you must meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to qualify** Position Summary The Manager, Field Technology Deployments is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing technology implementations for new shop openings, relocations, remodels, acquisitions, and closures across Potbelly Sandwich Works. This role ensures field technology-including point-of-sale hardware, networking infrastructure, telecommunications, and back-office systems-is installed, configured, and operational in alignment with development and construction timelines. This position serves as the primary IT partner to Construction, Real Estate, Operations, and Facilities teams to ensure technology readiness for each shop milestone. The Manager will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to deliver consistent and scalable technology deployments that support Potbelly's growth and operational needs. Key Responsibilities Field Technology Deployment * Lead end-to-end technology deployments for new shop openings, relocations, remodels, acquisitions, and closures. * Coordinate installation and configuration of POS hardware, networking equipment, telecommunications, and back-office systems. * Ensure all systems are operational and validated prior to shop opening. Site Readiness & Infrastructure Coordination * Confirm technology readiness during construction phases, including low-voltage cabling, network infrastructure, and ISP installation. * Coordinate installation schedules with construction timelines and development milestones. * Partner with contractors and vendors to ensure technology standards are met. Vendor Management * Coordinate with technology vendors, hardware suppliers, low-voltage contractors, and internet service providers. * Manage installation schedules, equipment delivery, and vendor performance to support opening timelines. Project Management & Collaboration * Manage multiple concurrent field technology deployment projects across the development pipeline. * Maintain project plans, installation checklists, and deployment documentation. * Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders. * Partner with internal IT teams to ensure system configuration and support readiness. Opening Support * Provide remote or on-site support during final installation and shop opening phases as needed. * Verify system functionality and coordinate resolution of any post-opening technology issues. Qualifications Required * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. * 5+ years of experience supporting restaurant technology within a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or multi-unit restaurant environment. * Experience coordinating multi-site technology installations or infrastructure deployments. * Strong vendor management, project management, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional stakeholders. * Willingness to travel up to 50-75% as required for shop openings. Preferred * Experience supporting restaurant POS platforms such as NCR Aloha or Toast POS. * Familiarity with restaurant networking infrastructure, telecommunications, and shop-level technology environments. * Experience working with restaurant development, construction, or new shop opening teams. * Experience using Smartsheet or similar project management platforms to manage deployments and timelines.
