We are seeking a Computer Engineer to support our customer in Crane, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining software applications, scripts, and tools in Python to support engineering analysis, system integration, test automation, and mission support activities. This individual will work in a collaborative environment alongside Government and contractor personnel to develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and sustain software solutions supporting advanced defense systems. In this role, the Computer Engineer will contribute directly to mission readiness by delivering software capabilities that improve system performance, support testing and evaluation, enable data-driven engineering decisions, and enhance the effectiveness of systems used by the warfighter in complex operational environments.

This role requires in-person support.

Duties:



  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications, scripts, and utilities using Python in support of engineering, integration, and test activities.
  • Support the design and implementation of software tools used for data collection, reduction, analysis, automation, and reporting.
  • Assist in integrating software with hardware, laboratory equipment, sensors, and system interfaces.
  • Analyze technical requirements, interface documentation, and system specifications to develop effective software solutions.
  • Support software verification and validation activities, including troubleshooting and resolving issues identified during integration and test events.
  • Participate in laboratory, developmental, and operational test support activities, including pre-test preparation, execution support, and post-test analysis.
  • Develop automated solutions to improve repeatability, efficiency, and accuracy in engineering and test processes.
  • Maintain software baselines and support configuration management and version control processes.
  • Prepare and update technical documentation, including software design descriptions, test procedures, user instructions, interface documentation, and engineering reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, logisticians, and customer personnel to resolve software and system-level issues.
  • Support modernization, sustainment, and enhancement of existing software applications and tools.
  • Ensure software products and processes comply with applicable quality, cybersecurity, and security requirements.
  • Provide technical recommendations to improve software performance, maintainability, and mission effectiveness.


Required Education:



  • Bachelor's level degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science.


Required Experience:



  • 3+ years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
  • Experience developing software in Python.
  • Experience with software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting software development in technical or engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with source code management and version control tools such as Git.
  • Ability to analyze technical requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with technical teams and Government stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.


Desired Qualifications:



  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or U.S. Navy programs.
  • Experience in Electronic Warfare, mission systems, sensor integration, or test and evaluation environments.
  • Experience with software automation, data analysis, or engineering support tools.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based environments.
  • Experience with additional languages or tools such as C/C++, MATLAB, Bash, or database tools.
  • Experience supporting system integration, laboratory testing, or fielded system sustainment.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity or secure software development practices in Government environments.


Must be willing to travel up to 50%

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
