Job Summary

Job Summary

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (https://ce.gatech.edu) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to work with Drs. Armistead Russell, Talat Odman, and Jennifer Kaiser. The selected candidate will study air quality using satellite data and chemical transport models. The postdoctoral fellow will also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other scientists and stakeholders in the NASA Health and Air Quality Applied Sciences Team (HAQAST) community. Postdoctoral appointments are initially for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding. A competitive salary is offered commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:

Research involving analysis of TEMPO data and CMAQ modeling

Mentoring graduate students working on similar projects

Administrative duties relate to team management and stakeholder engagement

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in atmospheric science, environmental engineering, remote sensing, or a closely related field

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with atmospheric chemistry-transport modeling (e.g., CMAQ, WRF-Chem)

Experience with satellite data analysis

Strong programming and data analysis skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
