Environmental Intern

Join DLZ as an Environmental Intern in Lansing or Waterford, Michigan!

DLZ is hiring Environmental Interns to support our teams in Lansing or Waterford, Michigan. This is a hands-on opportunity for students interested in environmental science or environmental engineering to gain real world experience through field and office based environmental work.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with environmental field work, site inspections, and sampling
• Support soil, groundwater, and surface water investigations
• Collect, organize, and document environmental data
• Assist with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
• Provide general field and office support to environmental staff

Location specific experience may include:

• • Lansing: Supporting municipal stormwater programs, including MS4 compliance, outfall screening, inspections, and documentation
  • Waterford: Supporting public sector environmental projects, including work for the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (MDMVA)

What We're Looking For:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• Interest in environmental compliance, field work, and applied environmental projects
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel (ArcGIS is a plus)
